What is the difference between way oil and hydraulic oil?
Way oil, also known as slide oil, is a type of hydraulic oil with a tackifier, an additive that makes it adhere to surfaces.
What are the grades of Slideway oil?
Millers Millway slideway oils are available in 6 viscosity grades. These include the more common ISO VG 68 and 220 grades as well as ISO VG 32, 100 and 150 for some more niche applications.
What grade oil is best for hydraulics?
The most commonly used viscosities are ISO 32, 46, or 68, since these are able to lubricate and protect the system under the normal range of operating temperatures. Fluid viscosity should be low enough to optimize energy efficiency and fluid flow while high enough to minimize wear and optimize servo-valve operation.
What happens if you mix 32 and 46 hydraulic oil?
Mixing oils with different additive packages is never recommended as this could compromise the additive performance, cause corrosion, or increase mechanical wear.
